Thailand introduced a new Digital Nomad Visa in August 2025, allowing foreign professionals to live and work in the country for up to two years.
BANGKOK – August 3, 2025 – The Thai government unveiled its Digital Nomad Visa program, offering extended residency for remote workers, freelancers, and entrepreneurs. Applicants must show proof of income of at least US$2,500 per month and valid health insurance coverage.
The visa also allows multiple re-entries and grants access to local co-working spaces and networking events. Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said the initiative aims to diversify Thailand’s economy and attract long-term visitors with higher spending capacity.
This visa could stimulate Thailand’s real estate, hospitality, and service sectors, while offering digital professionals a cost-effective base in Southeast Asia.
